Clophill Eco Lodges
On Sunday 27th August we will be holding a very special cafe featuring work from a local artist.
John Dyson was a well known friend and neighbour in Clophill and Silsoe. He and his wife Barbara lived in Clophill and raised their children here. My husband and I knew John for many years primarily as a neighbour but also as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Silsoe College before he retired.
When John died fairly suddenly, Barbara his wife, found a large amount of water colours and sketches which he had done over a number of years. Barbara had no idea when John did these paintings. Some maybe on holidays in France or around the UK. She wanted to share these paintings with friends and relations at his Service of remembrance. I found two pictures which I loved immediately. There were quite a few over and I thought how wonderful it would be for people in the village and around should have the opportunity to possibly make a donation to the Clophill Heritage Trust or the East Anglian Air Ambulance and take a painting home.
