Riders are responsible for providing their own bicycle, helmet and other kit, as appropriate for the activity and weather on the day. As a minimum, your bicycle and helmet must be in good working order. On top of this, we recommend you wear stout shoes and full body cover and bring a water bottle, gloves and a waterproof jacket.

Weekend skills and tricks workshops

COMING SOON!

Led by qualified off-road instructors. Hens, stags, corporate team-building or purely for fun! Women-only or mixed groups. Beginners or intermediate levels catered for.

On both days, participants cycle from the Clophill Eco Lodges to Rowney Warren woods nearby. Rowney Warren is the home of Chicksands bike park, an extensive network of mountain bike trails of a national standard. Once in the woods, the beginners group will develop their skills on the cross country track which runs around the perimeter of the woods, under the watchful eye of their instructor.

Day 1 skills training covers bike set-up, downhill skills, uphill skills, basic bike maintenance, cornering and negotiating small obstacles. The overall emphasis is on developing confidence and having fun. No-one will be pushed to do anything they don’t feel confident with.

Day 2 further develops these skills whilst introducing some new ones for those who are confident, for example bunny hops, lifting rear wheel, faster descents and cornering at speed.

Duration: 2 days
Available: All year
Capacity: 16 people / session
Cost*: £200 / person

*Includes instructor-led activity, daily permits for riding in the woods, a goody bag, cold lunches on both days, an evening meal and overnight accommodation on Day 1 and breakfast on Day 2.

Itinerary

10am – 4pm biking, both days (includes lunch).

Evening meal and overnight stay at the Clophill Eco Lodges.
