‘Cider press rules’ weekend
Spend a fresh and fun Saturday picking some of our best local apples and learning how to prepare them for the press. You’ll have the choice of whether to make either cider or apple juice. Follow this up with a cosy, Autumnal evening meal and overnight stay at the Clophill Eco Lodges.
Sunday will be spent at the local orchard learning about tree maintenance, how to manage a harvest and (hopefully) inspiring you to start your own apple-pressing!

Real ale weekend
Enjoy a ale-mighty weekend in beautiful Bedfordshire!
Learn about the work of CAMRA – the Campaign for Real Ale – and take part in some guided ale-tasting during a visit to one of the region’s breweries on Saturday. Follow this up with a hearty evening meal and overnight stay at the Clophill Eco Lodges.
On Sunday, enjoy a country walk stopping at some of Bedfordshire’s old, rural pubs serving regionally-brewed ale.

Real ale trail*
Take a walk around the nearby countryside and find some of our ‘hidden gem’ establishments, nestled in the Bedfordshire countryside. The trail can include a tour of a local brewery should lazing in one of the local pubs with a local brew leave you with sufficient time.
The trail can be completed guided or un-guided depending on your mapping skills and desire to test the offerings. Please email us us for details.
*Self-led adventure
Please note that ‘real ale trail’ is one of our typically self-led adventures. It will therefore not feature in our What’s on when events calendar but may be arranged for your group by contacting us directly. We’ll require a small, non-refundable deposit from a minimum of 6 people in order to confirm your booking.
Bedfordshire wine discovery weekend
Ancient vines planted in medieval times by the local Cistercian Monks are today producing award-winning wines through a community vineyard scheme.
Spend Saturday learning about the craftsmanship of producing good wine. Gain insight into the history of our regional grapes and the modern English wine industry from our expert. ‘Wined’ up the day with a delicious meal and accommodation at the Clophill Eco Lodges.
On Sunday, we’ll walk to the vineyard and learn about its history, the particular varieties of vines and their care and the challenges of growing vines in our climate.
